Demps Inks With CSUS Basketball

Pleasant Grove football quarterback and basketball point guard Cody Demps has committed to play for the Sacramento State Hornets. Joe Davidson of the Bee quotes basketball coach Brian Katz, "(Demps is) a leader with skills, toughness, instincts. Great young man, top student, terrific basketball upside."

Congrats to a terrific young man who I think is one of the top athletes in EGUSD this season.

Here's some results from Monday's action:

Baseball:

JESUIT 3, DAVIS 2 (Played at Raley Field. I mention this one because the two top pitchers in the DVC and DRL, Logan James of Jesuit and Ben Eckles of Davis faced off. These two clubs could also be the top two in Division I in the North Section. Plus, Elk Grove plays Rodriguez
tonight at Raley Field, weather permitting)

BRADSHAW CHRISTIAN 12, GOLDEN SIERRA 5 - Grant Heisinger had a pair of doubles.
EL DORADO 4, COSUMNES OAKS 1
PLEASANT GROVE 7, LAGUNA CREEK 0 - Josh Adams and four others combine on a two-hitter. Bronson Grubbs was two-for-three.

Softball:
Santa Barbara 4, Sac State 0 - Shelby Wisdom (Elk Grove H.S.) threw a four-hit shutout. (see Monday's posting)
